Web Site Accessibility
You may be turning your back on some of your customers.

20% of Americans have a disability; 40% of them use the Internet. Can you afford to ignore this potential audience?
The advantages of addressing this audience are clear: expansion or maintenance of your customer base, a decrease in costly customer complaints, reduced potential for liability, and increased usability for everyone.
Web site accessibility for all
Government and businesses are starting to build accessibility features into their sites, using guidelines set by the government or the World Wide Web Consortium. These specifications are subject to interpretation. Many Web development firms will focus on making sites conform to the strict letter of the law, but end up creating sites that are unusable by disabled visitors. Brook Group believes that accessibility means going beyond the law to make sites more usable to people of all abilities and backgrounds.
Brook Group really knows this stuff. With over 10 years experience developing accessible Web sites, we employ specialists in US government’s Section 508 and W3C WCAG guidelines. We have designed government Web sites for DOJ, DOE, the White House, and many commercial and non-profit organizations. We offer flexible programs to meet your budget and business needs.
The Accessibility Process
Requirements Planning
We consult with you to determine the level of accessibility necessary to reach your business goals. We will examine your audience and assess their needs.
Design
We review your current design and determine if we can use it as a basis for the new accessible design or start from scratch. Our goal will be to create a usable and legible visual layout.
Expert Review
Our internal accessibility team will review the new interface designs to determine best coding practices and any special accessibility features that may be required.
Development and Testing
We will create the first few templates and write HTML code. We then run manual tests and use testing tools and make necessary adjustments.
Implementation
The balance of the site will be built and tested accordingly. Once completed, we will provide you with documentation outlining the site’s accessibility features.
