Tacklebox 5.2 in Production at BrookGroup.com

  • Editor Replaced: Tacklebox has a new text editing toolbar. The EasyEdit toolbar in earlier versions required that users edit content with the Microsoft  Internet Explorer browser running on a PC. Our new open-source editor is platform-independent, allowing editing on Macintosh or PCs, and browser-independent. Firefox fans can use their favorite browser with Tacklebox.
  • A Subpage Alternative: Tacklebox subpage templates -- often used for articles and press releases -- had some restrictions in terms of formatting and linking. With this release we offer a simple alternative: the ability to store live pages in a hidden section. Using this technique, pages can reside on the site without appearing in the navigation, but can be linked to from anywhere, and can use any template; a flexible option for subpages.

Tacklebox 5.1 in Production at BrookGroup.com
  • Introducing Human-Readable URLs: At last, we have replaced those not-so-beautiful ".com/engine/content.do?PUBLIC_ID= 31X06&BT_CODE= BG34Y7&TT_CODE= BGSUBPAGE" Web addresses with real words. The URLs are system-generated based on your page names. But if you want to change the way a given page URL looks, the URL segments are fully editable. This enhancement not only makes your pages look better to site visitors, but will go a long way to helping increase your visibility with Web search engines.
  • What Was That Again?: We've increased our server memory...on all hosting servers to ensure maximum response time.
  • When Can I Get It: We will work with clients to convert their existing URLs to the human-readable format. All new Tacklebox sites will feature HRUs.

Tacklebox 5.0 released!

Version 5.0 is in production. It features a streamlined navigation bar, copy navigation feature, meta tag cascading, and strong security for user  passwords.

We have also enhanced our database backup to provide added back-end security. A dynamic data mirroring system ensures that every time a change is made to any of our Tacklebox-driven sites, that change is instantly recorded to our standby server. In case of server failure, the standby is...standing by, to step in and ensure uptime for our sites.
