Wizard Productivity Systems sells Microsoft Dynamics packaged with their innovative Wizard X4 Productivity Suite, which automates the Dynamics implementation process. They marketed primarily to Microsoft resellers. Recently, the CEO envisioned a new business strategy, targeting end users. To do this, Wizard needed a complete re-engineering of their existing Web site. They hired Brook Group to create a new Web site that would act as a customer acquisition engine, reaching their new target market.
Creating a Customer Acquisition Engine
Our specific tasks included devising a survey to collect market research, performing extensive keyword research, writing compelling, informative content, structuring the new and existing information, and creating a clean, usable design to reflect the Wizard brand. To ensure the site's function as an acquisition engine, we also planned to highlight a call to action on every page, drive traffic to the site and construct a search marketing strategy.
Building a Better Web Site
Brook Group began with a Discovery session with the company's principals to refine the vision and better understand their technology. We conducted both surveys and extensive keyword research to gain more insight into the end user. We gleaned content from the original site to build the new partner section and held interviews with key stakeholders to develop new content.
We structured the site to reflect our research and created a prototype in RAD so Wizard could see the navigation and content structure and make sure all content holes were filled. We designed a new look and feel for the site that captured the essence of the Wizard brand. We then developed the site to be search engine-friendly. After the site was launched, we promoted it with a strong PR campaign.
The New Wizard
The new site emphasizes clarity, usability and consistency. The services and products are more pronounced, the information architecture makes the site intuitive, and the site complements the Wizard brand. The site is conversion-driven and each page directs the customer to perform an action. The enhanced design makes the site appear more current and cutting-edge. Because of our optimization techniques, the site will rank highly on the search engines. Most importantly, Wizard has seen an increase in sales since the new site launched.
