Our Work - The Brook Group Advantage
People often ask us what sets us apart from the competition. In our 20 years of experience, we have developed a combination of skills, staff, and expertise that provide key differentiators.
-
Web Site Design
Brook Group has been a design firm for more than twenty years, building Web sites for clients as diverse as the Department of Justice, the White House, Calvert School and AOL since as early as 1995.
-
Experienceware
Brook Group’s Experienceware approach to information architecture and user interface design has led to a growing business in customer experience design, highlighted by more than twenty software interface design projects for VeriSign, and a re-examination and redesign of the US Department of Energy’s signature Web site (2003), energy.gov.
-
A RADical Approach
RAD is the latest tool in Web prototyping. Rather than waiting for a full Web site design to be completed before stakeholders can begin to visualize their site content and navigation, the CMS-based RAD tool is a hands-on Web-based sandbox for site owners to try out information architecture schemes and content organization in real time. RAD prototype sites are powered by the Tacklebox CMS, meaning that they can be easily ported to a Tacklebox-driven site.
-
Tacklebox CMS
A Java-based, full-featured content management system, Tacklebox is a proven, robust Web publishing tool that answers all needs, from workflow to security to content auditing and more. Design shops can learn about content management, and technical shops can do basic Web design, but Brook Group is unique among Web site design and content management vendors in its ability to deliver a fully integrated packaging of CMS knowledge and design experience. As a developer and owner of a CMS, we do content management every day, serving a variety of clients. There is no barrier between our Web designers and our technical development staff. Our designs are informed by a content management expertise, and our CMS was built by people who live for Web site design and Web site usability.
-
Consultation
Whether it’s corralling senior VPs at VeriSign to develop functional specifications for software interface development, working with a thirty-five-member Web assessment committee at the DOE, or consulting with the Office of Management and Budget on Web standards for the federal government, Brook Group brings a wealth of consultation and project management experience to every project.
