The Challenge
Columbia MedCom Group and its affiliate, Medicalliance, provide marketing services to healthcare and pharmaceutical companies. They wanted to develop a system of secure, password-protected extranets for their clients. Called the Clinical Forum, the extranet site will provide a collaborative space for doctors, healthcare and pharmaceutical staff, and Medicalliance staff, to share documents and information on the progress of clinical studies and other projects.
Tackling the Task
They hired Brook Group to create a design template for these extranets and licensed Brook Group’s Tacklebox® content management system to power the sites. The Tacklebox Registration and Site Access functions allow Medicalliance to create and maintain these mini-sites in minutes.
The Doctor Is In
Brook Group conducted a detailed Discovery process, defining the goals of the project and the company’s communications process. We then designed an attractive re-usable interface for the mini-sites. We focused our layout and design efforts on eases of use and accessibility. We then configured and deployed an instance of the Tacklebox CMS at our secure hosting facility, containing the Clinical Forum page templates. Following a half-day training session for Medicalliance staff, they took over content management and mini-site creation, providing a value-added service to their healthcare clients.
Medical Information Made Easy
With Tacklebox, all site content can be published on the fly from any location. Using the WYSIWYG tool, anyone can add content without knowing HTML. Clients can easily create, populate and update their own pages, giving timely information to the doctors and other professionals. Tacklebox site management tools allow site owners to manage all aspects of the site, from navigation to meta data to user access. Most importantly, all sites are secured by password protection, giving access only to those who need it.
