Network Security Consulting is an organization dedicated to the advancement of information security. Their innovative Common Compliance Framework methodology is designed to help businesses efficiently mitigate security risks at the enterprise level. Recently, they created a Web-based application to apply the CCF model, but the program is so complex they needed Brook Group’s User Interface design team to make it user-friendly.

Simplicity Without Sacrifice

NSC wanted their application simplified without sacrificing content. To do this, Brook Group developed a new navigational scheme, page layouts and a consistent user interface to make the application most easily understood. Brook Group designers created an elegant look to the application which was applied to NSC’s marketing materials.

“While you don’t want to simplify the application itself, you do want it to be simple to use. Brook Group understands that making something easy to use doesn’t have to mean dumbing it down,” said Kari White, Content Developer for Brook Group.

The Results Are In

As a result of this new interface, NSC benefits from better branding, creating a strong presence in the trade. The new design helps users understand how various functions relate to one another and the system of operations. Working through the application became smooth and intuitive. What started out as exceedingly complex no longer overwhelms the user. Now, the user can realize the full potential of the application.
