Thomson Financial Publishing is a leading supplier of content for financial institutions and media outlets worldwide. It offers integrated financial data products enabling their clientele to cut through data overload by seamlessly organizing, analyzing and integrating information into their internal workflow. Brook Group was called in to redesign their existing Web site to make it more useful and more effective.
The Challenge
The greatest challenge in this project was working under an extremely tight deadline to produce a site that would be changed and expanded by Thomson¿s internal staff as soon as it was delivered.
Special Delivery
Thomson Financial wanted a site that was easy to navigate and capable of rapid growth. They were seeking to align their numerous product lines as part of a single product offering, as well as convey their role in the market as a major financial content provider. The site was intended to provide sophisticated, up-to-date, consumer-oriented organization.
Working quickly, Brook Group considered the role of Thomson in the financial world, creating designs that represented the company and its mission. The technical team devised a site navigation map and worked from there to build the information architecture. General templates were constructed with which the Thomson staff could insert their content to maintain consistency throughout the site.
The Results Are In
The final site boasted an improved information architecture, now streamlined and better organized to reflect a professional corporation. The navigation system enables users to know exactly where they are in the site and what their options are.
The text and graphics combine to make a visually stimulating design to captivate the audience. As for the corporate identity, several designs intertwine to reflect the corporate mission and provide better branding for the company.
