Tacklebox Features

New in Tacklebox 2006

Tacklebox 2006 enriches an already deep set of features that has made Tacklebox a favorite for commercial, non-profit, and government Web sites and intranets.

Newly added:

Meta Data

Add custom meta tags to each of your site’s pages, to boost your site’s rankings in search engines. Tweak each page’s title tag, to further improve your ranking and customize what users will see in search engine results. With Tacklebox’s meta data feature, you can quickly and easily fine-tune every page in the site.

Instant Content Rollback

One of your authors makes a change to a press release on the site, but the next day you discover it now contains erroneous information. With Tacklebox 2006, you just click Rollback, to immediately revert to the previous version. Tacklebox gives you a preview, before you commit to the rollback. If the author rolls back, the rollback can be approved by supervisors before it takes effect — using Tacklebox’s robust publishing workflow capabilities. Or, an administrator can step in, in emergency mode, and instantly roll the content back.

Human-Readable URLs

At last, those not-so-beautiful “.com/engine/content.do?PUBLIC_ID= 31X06&BT_CODE= BG34Y7&TT_CODE=BGSUBPAGE” Web addresses have been transformed into real words. The new URLs are system-generated, based on your page names. But if you want to change the way a given page URL looks, it will be editable. This enhancement will not only make your pages look better, but will go a long way to helping increase your visibility with Web search engines.

Expanded Copying Features

Copy any part of the site, with just one click. Everything in that part of the site will be copied — all the content, templates, workflow settings, managers, etc. Very useful if you want to overhaul a portion of the site — make a copy, work on it, then make it go live when you’re ready. A great addition to Tacklebox’s extensive site management capabilities.

RAD Visualization Tool

A Tacklebox-driven tool to help you visualize and nail down your site’s structure, navigation, and content before finalizing your site’s design. Quickly create a working prototype to get feedback from stakeholders and test with users. Any site can take advantage of this feature — the site will use generic, design-neutral templates until it’s ready to be re-skinned with a look-and-feel that fits the structure and content you’ve created.
